Dr. Scott Carpenter

Dr. Scott Carpenter

Principal Veterinarian

Dr. Carpenter was born and raised in Arvada, Colorado. He attended Arvada West High School and in 1987 graduated from Colorado State Universityu2019s College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation he worked as an Associate Veterinarian at Aspen Arbor Animal Hospital before opening his own practice, Arvada West Veterinary Hospital, in 1990. During that time he began his relationship as the primary veterinarian for Golden Retriever Rescue of the Rockies (GRRR) an organization that helps rescue-rehab and place unwanted, abandoned or surrendered Golden Retrievers into loving forever homes.

Since then, Dr. Carpenter has received multiple awards from the Colorado Veterinary Medical Association including Colorado Veterinarian of the year in 2008. His care, compassion, and service has been noted across the state as well as with local nonprofit organizations including Golden Retriever Rescue of the Rockies, Scottie Rescue, Safe Harbor Lab Rescue, Colorado Underdog Rescue and Golden Freedom Rescue.

Dr. Carpenter and his wife, Deb have been married for 38 years and live in Golden with their cohort of pets, including their award-winning show dog, Eclipse, a Belgian Tervuren. He and Deb have three amazing children along with four beautiful grandchildren. Dr. Carpenter is well known throughout Arvada and Broomfield for his drive and dedication to pets and their owners. Patient care always comes first and this focus will continue during his time at Garrison Animal Clinic.




Katelyn is a Colorado native who graduated from Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology with an associates degree in veterinary technology in 2014. She enjoys snowboarding in the winter time and spending time outdoors with her Catahoula Leopard Dog/Border Collie mix, Jackson. She also has a Schnauzer terrier mix named Harper and a tuxedo cat named Scooter.


Receptionist/Tech Assistant

Shantel was born and raised in Colorado and has been a veterinarian receptionist for a little over 3 years. She has worked as a veterinarian assistant for 2 years, and is currently going to school to become a Veterinarian Technician.

Shantel loves working with animals… she loves being able to help owners make their pets’ lives healthier and happier.

In Shantelu2019s spare time she loves to read, explore and spend time with her family and friends.



CVT Lead Tech

Stephanie is a native to Colorado and graduated from Bel-Rea in 2006. Her passion is Surgery and Radiology. Stephanie has been working with Dr. Scott Carpenter for 11 years as his technician. If she is not working she enjoys spending time with her family and 2 amazing Labradors.

Dear Valued Clients,

We hope you and your family are doing well during these challenging times.

After much thought and consideration, WellHaven leadership has made the decision to join our veterinary clinic with our other local WellHaven hospitals. Over the next couple of weeks, we will continue to follow our current schedule. Our last day seeing patients at Garrison will be June 24, 2022.

To obtain a copy of your pet’s medical records please email us at recordsgarrison@wellhaven.com so we can email your pet’s records directly to you, or the veterinary clinic of your choice.

If your pet has a Care Companion Plan (wellness plan) at Garrison Animal Care Clinic you will no longer be billed for the plan as it has been cancelled effective immediately. If you have additional questions about the wellness plan you can email recordsgarrison@wellhaven.com.
